“My Utmost for His Highest” Series
Intercession
Reading Oswald Chambers's devotional, "My Utmost for His Highest," two quotes based off of Romans 8:28 ("All things work together for good to them that love God...") specifically stood out to me:
1. "God is bringing you into places among people and into conditions in order that the intercession of the Spirit in you may take a particular line..."
2. "Your intercessions can never be mine and my intercessions can never be yours, but the Holy Ghost makes intercession in our particular lives, without which intercession someone will be impoverished."
What are the circumstances, workplaces, gyms, neighborhoods, communities, families, and more that we are specifically in? Wherever we are at God wants to intercede. Are we being intentional about our our "tool of intercession," prayer? Each unique person is in a unique place to pray very unique things that the Spirit has stirred in us. Let us stop questioning "why" we are here or there. Let us stop being passive in our presence and intercession. Let us pray the "goodness" of God's intercession and presence into those lives around us. Let us see and be apart of what God wants to do- hear, heal, comfort, love, guide and forgive. It is then we will see all things working together for good because we will be more open to seeing the work and miracles of God's beautiful intercession in our lives and others.
